Hawaii Theatre
Known as the “Pride of the Pacific”, the old-fashioned looking Hawaii Theatre was constructed in 1922. A popular destination for popular entertainment and films, the Hawaii Theatre suffered a slow decline in the 1950s and was threatened with closure in 1984. In an effort to save the much beloved this much-beloved landmark, a number of concerned parties joined in an attempt to revitalize the neighborhood and restore the Hawaii Theatre to its former glory. Closed in 1989 for renovations, the repairs continued for several years until the Hawaii Theatre opened its doors again on April 26, 1996.

The Hawaii Theatre hosts a number of artistic performances, including traditional Hawaiian hula demonstrations, modern and traditional dance performances, and musical concerts. The Hawaii Theatre is also available for rent as a private venue, and is sometimes rented out for local school events and special recognition of members of the community. Ticket prices and availability depend upon the performance. For a list of upcoming events, check out the website at www.hawaiitheatre.com or call 808.528.0506.
