The Ocean Project is a blend of marine research and education, targeted at families with children who are interested in marine biology, marine ecology and conservation. Led by knowledgeable marine biologists, the Ocean Project on Maui provides instructional snorkeling adventures and whale watching sightseeing tours in a family-friendly setting. With just your family and your guide, instruction is private and therefore more personal, leading to more in-depth demonstrations and explanations of the beautiful Hawaiian marine ecology.

There is no dedicated beach used for snorkeling or whale watching tours. Your tour guide will decide on the beach destination just one day prior to your departure, analyzing ocean and weather conditions to pick the ideal spot for instruction and adventure. Your guide will coordinate with you regarding your transportation and arrival at the site of choice. At the conclusion of your Ocean Project adventure, each child will receive a science kit complete with a lesson to share with their class when they return to school
