Grove Farm Homestead
A sugar plantation homestead on the far outskirts of Lihue that can trace its roots back to the time of the American Civil War, this 100-acre homestead and museum offer a rate view of plantation-era life in Kauai. A once-struggling small farm carved out of a large grove of kukui trees, George Wilcox was able to transform the land into a most successful sugar plantation.

Advanced reservations are required for a spot on a long, meandering two-hour tour through the buildings and gardens of Grove Farm. Operated by local Kauai residents, tours are conducted in small, intimate groups and are offered on Mondays, Wednesday and Thursdays, excluding holidays and rainy days. A highlight of this charming tour is the sampling of Grove Farm’s homemade turbinado sugar cookies and mint tea. Tours are conducted at 10am and 1pm. There is a requested donation of $10 for participation in the tour. Call 808.245.3202 to make reservations.

Directions:
The Grove Farm homestead easily accessible, located at 4050 Nawiliwili Road (Highway 58) in Lihue, Kauai.
