The Kaeleku Caverns offers cave tours of magnificent lava tubes on land, featuring a fantastic spelunking experience not found elsewhere in Maui. Stalagmites and stalactites can be throughout the lava tube, a geological wonder unchanged for thousands of years.
Access to and tours of the caves are primarily facilitated by a company that provides tours of the Hana Lava Tube called the Kaeleku Caverns, including daily tours from Monday through Saturday. Multiple tour options are offered, including a scenic self-guided walking tour and a “wild” adventure tour that includes a deeper and more exciting spelunking adventure. Knowledgeable cave guides conduct tours of the cavern, pointing out distinct features of the Kaeleku Cavern and how they form as part of a geological development over time. Daily schedules are subject to change, so call ahead for information, or visit www.mauicave.com.
Directions:
From Kahului, drive along the Hana Highway to mile marker #31. Make a left on Ulaino Road, and continue until you reach the sign marking the entrance to the caverns
