President Obama Guide
United States President Barack Obama is the first US President born in Hawaii. Having returned there for several family vacations, the places he visits instantly become famous attractions that many people subsequently seek out. An international celebrity, President Obama has the same level of fame as many of the highest A-list stars. Below are number of attractions and restaurants that the President has been identified as having visited either during his childhood or while on vacation as President.

Indigo is a restaurant located at 1121 Nuuanu Ave. in Honolulu. An already popular hotspot in Chinatown, the menu features island fusion-style courses. The Obama family has also either recommended or been known to frequent Alan Wong’s at 1857 S. King Street, which specializes in Hawaiian cuisine made from locally grown, fresh ingredients. The Rainbow Drive-In at 3308 Kanaina Ave. just outside Waikiki has been recommended by the President (as well as a legion of surfers who were not interviewed) as a terrific spot to get a local plate lunch. A favorite dessert of all Hawaiians, Island Snow Shave Ice on 130 Kailua Road, Kailua served the President and his family shave ice and managed to take a picture of him and his family on the picnic tables outside the restaurant. The Baskin-Robbins at 1618 S. King St., Honolulu, gave the President his first job as a young man.

Before major security revisions made him reassess his golf course selections, the President is known to have played at the Olomana Golf Links Course as well as the Luana Hills Country Club. The President now plays at the Mid Pacific golf course, located on a secured Marine Base on the island of Oahu.
