Ala Moana shopping centre is 400 metres away and Waikiki is about 1km in the other direction. Buses pass by regularly out the front to take you wherever for only $2.50 per person." Close

"My family stayed for 10 days in 2 different units on 2 different floors and it was wonderful. My parents stayed in a studio condo and my daughters family and I stayed in a 2 bedroom condo. Both units were very clean, comfortable, and modern. The two bedroom condo was unit 1334 and it was beautiful. Two bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, living room, double lanai, 3 flat screen TV's, and plenty of storage space. One bathroom had a shower while the other had a tub/shower (and a badet:) The studio unit 1412 was also beautiful but definitely smaller and more fit for a couple. It had a kitchen, 2 queen beds, pull out couch and shower. Both of our condos had a ocean/marina view and we watched the fireworks from the lanais. The security at the Ilikai was top rate. We had 3 small children under age 10 and felt safe and secure. The Ilikai is definitely more laid back than some of the other hotels but not in a bad way. It is situated so that you aren't in the middle of the Waikiki chaos but you can walk or drive quickly there if you want to experience it. I really can't say enough great things about Ilikai. I would recommend it to everyone AND plan to only stay there for future Hawaii vacations. Everything was perfect and I cannot thank all of the staff enough. Mahalo and Aloha!" Close

"Our family occupied four of the condos and one room in the hotel side and everyone was satisfied and happy with the facilities. We attended a wedding in the Modern hotel next door and was very convenient. I love the way all of us have access to shops, restaurants, pools, beach and parks for the three neighboring hotels. The Hilton Hawaiian village is on the other side of Ilikai Hotel. Public transportation and taxis for large groups are easily accessible. We are grateful for an enjoyable and problem free stay!" "We stayed at the Ilikai as a less-expensive alternative to the Hilton, where our friends were getting married. Would definitely stay again! We walked in with our luggage and were greeted by an extremely friendly staff at the front desk. We arrived at noon, but could not check in until 3pm. However, the hotel was happy to store our luggage for us in a locked room and, upon return, the staff brought our bags up to our room for us and filled up our ice chest voluntarily. The staff always had a smile on their face and treated us like royalty (despite the fact that we're both grad students in our mid-twenties). We had asked for a high floor with a Hilton lagoon and ocean view, and were given a great room on the 24th floor with a terrific view of both. The room was huge, at least as big as our friends' rooms at the Hilton (and for half the price). The bed was comfortable, the TV was a large flat screen mounted on the wall, and the bathroom was large with a separate bath and shower. The terrace was much larger than I imagined- it would have easily fit 10 people comfortably, maybe 15.Upon asking the valet service how to get a taxi to take us to Pearl Harbor, I was informed by the valet representative that his dad ran a limo service that costs the same as a taxi, and he would just call them to pick us up. Sure enough, a white limousine arrived at the hotel and took us to Pearl Harbor for the same price as a taxi to the airport (about $40.00 with tip). The crew also sent another limo to pick us up from Pearl Harbor after our visit. Never had to wait. The hallways were clean and vacuumed every day. The elevators were fully functional and quick. The bar and grill downstairs had decent food and drink prices, but the service was just... meh. Not anything to write home about, but not bad at all.We never visited the pool because we're just across the way from the beach, a very easy walk around the Hilton lagoon. The area was safe and well monitored. The location is extremely convenient. The Royal Hawaiian Shopping center is a 10-15 minutes walk, and everything worth doing on the beach was within 20 minutes. We only rented for a couple of days to drive the back way to North Shore (highly recommended!)On our last day, our flight did not depart until 11pm. The Ilikai was happy to accomodate us with a late check out of 2pm, and then allow us to store our bags for the rest of the day for free in the above-referenced room. Upon dropping our bags off, the staff voluntarily set up a shuttle to pick us up later that evening and take us to the airport for only $20, cutting the cost of a taxi in half.I am entirely satisfied with my experience at the Ilikai, and will definitely stay again!" "Returned recently from 12 days on beautiful Oahu and was fortunate enough to stay at the Ilika for most of that time. This was our 6th time to Oahu and without a doubt, the Ilikai is now our favorite place to stay. The room was immaculate, updated and huge! I especially enjoyed the bed as they bedding and mattresses too where updated and so comfortable. There where just enough amenities on the grounds to meet your needs without being overwhelming. The courtyard was so pretty and again just the right size. Sitting out there each morning looking out over the marina and the beautiful Pacific, with a fabulous cup of coffee from the coffee shop was the perfect way to start the day. As a photographer, I so enjoyed photographing the beautiful flowers in the courtyard and the birds that played and bathed in the waterfall. Go Ilikai!!!!!, we can't wait to return again!!" Close

Recently, I booked a room for my family as well as my brother and his family--Lets just say our experience was perfect. I cant tell you enough about the friendliness of the staff. Each staff member greets ALL guests--if your a tourist or a local person (we've had negative experiences staying at hotels nearby where they wont even greet guests no matter what type of guest). Ilikai has a beautiful view--its not as crowded as others nearby. I can't wait to go back for another stay!!" Close

"The room was very spacious our lanai opening was about 8 ft across and we left it open 24/7. We faced the marina so enjoyed the sunset every night from our room on the 24th floor never needed the a/c on temperatures were perfect. The restaurant was under construction but I think they still served lunch and dinner on the patio. There was a fridge and microwave in the room so we did breakfast in the room and elsewhere when we were out. There is a man giving dollar coupons to a pub for breakfast and he stands right outside macdonalds across the street, for $6 you get a full breakfast at harbor pub right in front of the marina. Good value for Waikiki There is subway as well right across the street as well as walking distance to the mall and the food court(most of the food is Asian. But there are a few American type food places) Downtown Waikiki has a Chilis and Cheesecake Factory. The hotel is located at the beginning of Waikiki beach so it's a little quieter and not crowded which was perfect. There was a ramp walkway to the beach which took you right out in front of the lagoon. The beach and water was a little rocky right there but just walk past the Atlantis dock and the water is a little better. If you look to the west of the hotel you will see a park and another smaller swimming area on the other side of the marina. The water is very calm because it's protected from the open water and its not really rocky and would be perfect for families with small children. The people staying right in Waikiki beach wouldn't even know this place exists. Waikiki is about a ten minute walk or you can take trolley for $2.50. But honestly traffic is so busy you could probably outwalk transportation. Also there's a shortcut to the Waikiki shopping strip if you just walk to the Hilton Hawaiian village and cut through that park across the street you are right at the beginning of the strip. The grounds at the hotel are beautiful. They are soon going to be making some changes around the pool and patio and opening it up more so there's a better view of the ocean. The pool is heated and fine for just doing some laps. Small children will need floatation devices as it is a standard type pool with a shallow and deep end. Lounge chairs are very nice. Get them early as it is quite a popular spot. This is such an iconic hotel due to being featured in the original Hawaii 5-0 series. I will definitely stay here the next time I go to Hawaii the upgrade to oceanview was well worth the extra $20/night" Close

"Our wonderful visit to Hawaii centered on the Ilikai hotel. Technically, the Ilikai isn't actually on Waikiki; it's on the waterfront of the small boat harbor. [That's a "good thing" because you have all the amenities of the other hotels but you have more privacy.] The hotel dates back to 1963. That might seem to be a fault, but the hotel went through a massive restoration just two years ago. The result is a modern hotel with 60s-era sized rooms - perhaps 3 times the size of the newest hotels - providing living space without feeling like you're in a Motel 6. Try it. You'll LOVE it!" Close
