Hotel Lanai, “Hawaii’s Best Little Inn,” was built in 1923 by magnate James Dole as a retreat for Dole Pineapple executives. Until 1990, Hotel Lanai was the first and only Lanai hotel.  Only a few acres of Dole’s original plantation remain in production today, but Hotel Lanai has been lovingly restored to embody the island’s heritage and newly renovated to offer contemporary amenities.
