Waikiki, Hawaii Beach Hotel – Steps away from Waikiki’s best beach

ocean view aqua queen kapiolaniOnce the playground for Hawaii royalty, the Queen Kapiolani Hotel is located in the highly desireable eastern side of Waikiki, just steps from Waikiki Beach and directly across from Kapiolani Park.

Beaches
Waikiki is a haven for surfers, and is now a must-see destination for visitors.  Within just a short walk of our historic Honolulu hotel, you’ll come across Queen’s Surf Beach Park and Kuhio Beach Park. Queen’s Surf Beach Park is located between the Wall-a popular bodyboarding location- and the Waikiki Aquarium. On weekends, Queen’s is also famous for hosting the “Sunset on the Beach” free movie series. Adjacent to that, you’ll find Kuhio Beach Park, which is protected by an offshore retaining wall and offers a more sheltered swimming area, great for the kids.
Kapiolani Park
Directly across from the hotel is the Kapiolani Park, named in honor of the Queen herself. The park was a gift from her husband King David Kalakaua. Once a racetrack for horses, today the park serves as one of the largest open park areas in Honolulu with foot and bike paths, tennis courts and soccer fields.
Ala Moana Shopping Center
After hiking and surfing under the sun, you’ll enjoy shopper’s paradise at Ala Moana Shopping Center, the largest open-air shopping center in the world. Shops specialize in everything from beachwear to high fashion, and visitors will find a variety of international cuisines to sample at both casual eateries and fine dining restaurants. With tropical landscaping and koi ponds, you’ll find yourself in an indoor Hawaiian oasis away from the sun.

Waikiki Aquarium
Gaze into the eye of a zebra shark, watch an octopus open a jar, and see Pixar’s real life inspiration for Finding Nemo at the Waikiki Aquarium. The aquarium also offers exhibits of over 3,500 marine animals and houses more than 500 species of aquatic animals and plants, including Hawaiian monk seals and mesmerizing sea jellies.
